Leslie Brooks is a senior public relations and marketing executive with more than 12 years of proven, practical experience. She is president of Leslie Brooks PR & Marketing, a business focusing on public relations and marketing communications, merging traditional and new public relations and media marketing best practices with high-touch client relations. Prior to starting the business in 2006, Leslie worked for more than seven years as director of marketing and public relations for Crumley & Associates, PC, which is now the largest injury law firm in North Carolina. As a key member of the senior management and strategic planning teams, she utilized her public relations and marketing skills to grow the business to more than double its size and revenue in a four-year period. She created the firm’s successful public relations program and implemented public relations campaigns generating thousands of dollars worth of in-kind television and print coverage. While with the firm Leslie also produced a successful umbrella program as a vehicle for the firm’s philanthropic activities and took the firm to high levels of client service through collaboration with the management team and staff.

Leslie’s professional history includes her work as director of development for Open Door Ministries, a High Point-based nonprofit organization that provides food and emergency services to individuals and families and emergency shelter to men. Within her first year with Open Door, Leslie designed and implemented public relations campaigns and direct mail appeals that generated donations far exceeding budget and, through partnerships with radio stations and newspapers, increased the organization’s brand awareness to a high level. Her professional history also includes work with an advertising agency as a public relations account manager and as the director of a regional trade organization.

Leslie is an honors graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina with a BA in English and a communications concentration. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the local chapter, PRSA Tarheel. She chaired the chapter’s 2007 Professional Development Seminar and is the 2008 board secretary. Leslie is a graduate of leadership organizations including Challenge High Point (now called Leadership High Point), Triad Leadership Network and Leadership North Carolina, where she was chosen to represent the class as class speaker at the graduation ceremony. She is a member of the Leadership North Carolina 2008 Focus Group established to help the organization foster more and attractive ways of reaching out to alumni in all areas of engagement. Leslie lives in High Point, North Carolina and has three grown children, Matthew, Erin and Neil.
